Abstract:

Ipomoea is the largest genus of the Convolvulaceae family, with many species can be used for food and drug sources and ornamental purposes, including ordinary plants, such as morning glory, sweetpotato, water spinach, cypress vine and so on. In the wave of genome sequencing till nowadays, there are only four species in the genus Ipomoea have draft genome: they are I. trifida, I. batatas, I. triloba and I. nil. The purpose of this mini-review is to provide the latest information for bioinformatics practitioners and researchers or breeders who dedicate themselves to studying the genus Ipomoea, and may encourage more genome sequencing cooperation programs.
